C#/VB.NET Developer

Posted 07/07/2010
Company: TEKsystems
Description: We are currently looking for a lower mid-level or mid-level developer for an opportunity in Bentonville. Our client will pay between 45,000 - 50,000/year. This is a non-Walmart related company and is a casual work environment. The development is in C# and VB.Net with SQL backend.

VB.NET Developer

Posted 06/10/2010
Company: Steelers Resources, Inc.
Description: The ideal candidate would have at least a few years of experience and would be a solid Windows developer (as opposed to someone who has been primarily a web developer). The candidate would also be a quick study with new technologies and would be capable of learning through self-direction as needed.

Since we have been developing our new applications using VB.Net against a SQL Server database, the candidate would be well versed in VB.Net (or perhaps C#.Net) and T-SQL. However, while at least some .Net development experience is required for this position, we might also consider a seasoned developer who has limited .Net experience, but is very strong in some other Windows programming languages (such as Delphi or C++ for example) and is eager to work with .Net.

Because it is expensive to train new employees, we also value people who have shown some loyalty by not changing jobs excessively (but we do understand the nature of contract work and will take that into consideration). Also, since we are located in Arkansas, we don’t expect to have to pay quite as much for a developer as may be required in some other parts of the country, but we are certainly willing to pay an equitable sum for a well-qualified candidate.

Primary Skills Required:
  • VB.Net developer using Visual Studio 2005 and above
  • SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008
  • T-SQL Skills
  • Complex Queries
  • Stored Procedures
  • Functions
  • Triggers
  • SQL Server Jobs
  • Reporting Services (report writing)
  • Mobile Development (using Windows Mobile languages on the .Net Compact Framework)
  • A good understanding of object oriented development principles.
Secondary Skills Desired:
  • Experience with DevExpress components would be helpful, but is not required
  • Web skills could be useful in the future and would be considered a plus
Wishful Thinking
  • Clarion Skills
  • Pervasive Database Skills
